LOFT T, an apartment in the center of Zagreb
CONTEXT
The yard of the ancient city palace dating from the beginning of the 20th century located in the city center consisted of small apartments for the service and auxiliary staff and of apartments for rent. The apartments for gentlemen are 5 m high, while the spaces in the yard are 4 m high.
CONCEPT
One typical apartment in the yard with a surface of approximately 60 m2 with two bedrooms is transformed into a single space loft with a surface of 70 m2. The neon-blue kitchen block is placed against the exterior wall and frames a window. Across the kitchen, there is a steel gallery along with the entire apartment under which there’s a space for a restroom and storage. On the steel gallery, there’s a bathtub sized 2x2m.
CURIOSITIES
The loft owner and our client is a passionate collector of special designer vintage furniture. His taste in design pushes the limits of extravagance in principles of both life and space. We cannot wait to design a special house with an incorporated gallery or a chair museum for such a passionate design connoisseur.
